Liaison Officer - Local Government

Due to organisational growth, Wurundjeri Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Liaison Officer – Local Government to join the busy team at our Abbotsford offices.  Reporting to the Manager, Partnerships & Policy, this full-time new role will be responsible for providing effective engagement between the Corporation and local government councils which are located on Wurundjeri land.  

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders seeking to engage with the Corporation across a range of services
  • Manage partnerships and relationships on various programs
  • Establish and execute engagement, actions, projects and communication strategy
  • Preparation of reports, submissions and presentations
  • Involvement on policy and reform matters
  • Develop and support negotiations, agreements and contracts including associated budgets and expenditures

The successful applicant will hold:

  • A strong track record in a similar role
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in an NFP, local or state govt. organisation
  • Superior written and verbal communication, negotiation, presentation, relationship building and advocacy skills
  • Knowledge and awareness around Aboriginal legislation, cultures and social issues
