About Us

The Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation (Wurundjeri Corporation) is a Registered Aboriginal Party appointed under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006. The Corporation holds statutory responsibilities for the protection and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage and Aboriginal intangible heritage on Wurundjeri Country. Additional functions of the Corporation include, environmental land management, cross-cultural education, traditional welcome to country and smoking ceremonies, research and cultural consultations.

About the Role

The Renewable Energy Liaison at Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation will support the development and implementation of renewable energy initiatives that align with the Corporation’s goals and objectives. This designated role will work closely with the Economic Development Manager role and the Policy and Partnerships Unit as well as other Units within the Corporation to identify opportunities, develop strategies, and implement projects that promote economic growth and prosperity for the Corporation and its members.

As part of this role, you will support the development and implementation of a comprehensive renewable energy strategy aligned with the organisation’s vision, values, and objectives. This includes identifying potential economic opportunities and assessing feasibility and developing the final document. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills with government agencies, community organisations, businesses, and industry partners. With experience in project management, you will support the implementation of renewable energy projects from conception to completion. There will also be financial management involved, identify funding opportunities, support the preparation of grant proposals, and secure funding for renewable energy initiatives. 

About You

  • Contribute to a team environment that fosters and develops effective working relationships and a high-performance culture.
  • High level of engagement and alignment to the mission and priorities of the Wurundjeri Corporation both internal and external.
  • Experience with renewable energy strategies/plans and ensuring they are in line with organisational objectives, and statutory planning documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with an Aboriginal or Not for Profit organisation will be highly regarded.
